DPS encourages Labor Day safety

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) encourages everyone to drive safely as they celebrate the unofficial end of summer during the long Labor Day weekend. The Texas Highway Patrol will be increasing enforcement from Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, looking for people not wearing their seat belts, speeders, people driving while intoxicated and drivers who fail to follow the state’s Move Over, Slow Down law, among other traffic violations.

Mustangs light up Diboll to start new campaign 1-0

Madisonville’s offense did not miss a beat despite a lightning delay that pushed the start of their 2021 season back over an hour in Friday’s 51-20 victory over Diboll at Mustang Stadium. Quarterback Jeramiah Burns led a rushing attack that logged over 400 yards while Blessing Ngene found pay dirt three times down the stretch.

St. Joseph Health recently earned seven accolades from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Regional Hospital was awarded the Get With The Guidelines ® - Stroke GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll Elite Plus award, the Mission: Lifeline® - STEMI Receiving Center – GOLD PLUS award, the Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI – GOLD award, and the Get With The Guidelines® - Heart Failure GOLD PLUS award. College Station Hospital has been awarded the Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke SILVER PLUS with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award, the Mission: Lifeline® - STEMI Receiving Center – SILVER PLUS award, and the Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI – BRONZE award.
