Jerry Holt Stephens was born in Iola, Texas to Hardie Holt and Arnie McDougald Stephens September 10, 1933. He left this life on May 10, 2022 at age of 88.
Patricia Ann Hodges, age 63, passed away May 9, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. She was born March 9, 1959 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Victor & Alice (Frost) Nash. Patricia was raised in the Portsmouth area where she also met her future husband, Fred, who was in the Navy. Following their marital union, the pair moved south, where they raised their family and spent the remainder of their lives.
The Madisonville Sidewalk Cattlemen’s Association held their 82nd Annual Steak Dinner at their pavilion Saturday. The event featured students’ Ag mechanics projects, dinner, a silent auction and live entertainment from Kenny Orts and No Chance. Madisonville CISD teachers will receive a 4% pay increase with the new school year, raising the base pay for new teachers in the district to $50,000 annually, Superintendent Keith Smith announced during Monday’s board meeting.
North Zulch FCCLA is raising money for the students in their organization representing the state of Texas at the National FCCLA Leadership Conference in San Diego June. The organization is holding a street dance featuring Jody Bartula and the Barflies on Saturday.
The remains of Houston man Henry Schelsteder were located after the 69-year-old was reported missing while traveling through Madison County last week. Officials found Schelsteder’s body inside a wrecked vehicle in Walker County Monday.
