Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Education Agency to ensure school facilities are made safer in the wake of the killing of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde.

The Madisonville High School basketball program held a camp for local youth last week at the main gym at MHS. The camp focused on fundamentals and prepared the young Mustangs for what they will see as they progress through the program under head coach Brad Taylor.

Publisher’s note: Last week, in our June 8 edition, we published our graduation special with every graduating senior from Madisonville High School and North Zulch High School. Except one. We left out Christian Wilson, the most handsome one of them all – as his mom states. I take full responsibility for the oversight and have apologized to Christian personally.
