Midway’s summer readers earn treats

Midway’s 2022 Summer Reading Club came to a close as the beginning of the school season kicks off. The City has maintained this reading initiative program for students of the community for the last five years. This year, nine students, from Kindergarten to High School, participated and a reading a total of 68 books. Top readers were Michelle and Emily Penaloza.

By Richard Sirman richard.sirman@madisonvillemeteor.com Madison County hosted a town hall meeting at the Truman Kimbro Convention Center organized by Beto O’Rourke’s Campaign for his ‘A Drive For Texas’ event, which includes a 49-day drive of over 5,000 miles, 70 events, and visiting 65 and more counties and communities. The event took place on Saturday, August 6, and was attended by over 222 attendees who came out to hear what Beto had to say.

SHSU groundbreaking ceremony for new agricultural complex

In attendance were officials from the college, donors, and construction professionals, who were all attending to mark the beginning of the university’s Department of Agricultural Sciences expansion.
