The Unholy Trilogy: Monsters Everywhere!

Body
Greetings, dear readers! Today, we embark on a perilous journey through the treacherous realm of growing up, where childhood fantasies crumble, and the monsters under the bed and in the closet are just the warm-up act for the real-world horror show. Buckle up, my friends, for we are about to delve into a realm of bone-chilling terrors, doused in a healthy dose of sarcastic humor.

Food Crops of Old

Body
Gardens have been on my mind lately, and not flower gardens. As far as edibles go, I’ve only raised a little okra, peppers, tomatoes, and pumpkins. I think I’ve waited too late this year for anything but pumpkins, which should be planted at the first of July. I thought the history of local gardeners here might inspire me, so I studied Volumes 1 and 2 of local history.

Sleeping Dogs

Body
You cannot really tell the real nature of a dog when he is sleeping. Over the years I have walked up to many yard fences or knocked on many doors and I have learned to look very carefully to see if there is a dog there. There may be and he may be sleeping very peacefully but you go in the yard and halfway to the front door the dog awakens and that sleeping dog becomes a roaring, snarling lion and it is getting harder for me to run like a speeding train or leap over yard fences. The size and appearance can also be deceiving because I know several innocent looking little dogs and they will bite the dog out of you. I also know some very big dogs that are gentle as lambs. Thinking about dogs reminds me of something in the Bible. It is not the outward appearance or the size of a person that determines who or what they are; it is what is on the inside. They may seem nice and peaceful from a distance but get close to them and you will really find out who they are. When we receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior we get a new nature, (Gal 5:22-24). If we will yield and submit to the control of that new nature we will become more Christ like, (Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 4:30-32).
