The 278th and 12th District Courts of Madison County sentenced four defendants to terms in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division in January for drug and assault charges. In the 278th District Court, Judge Tracy Sorenson sentenced Kevin Michael John to five years for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony that occurred on February 23, 2024.
