A storm forced the cancellation of Madisonville High School’s final “Annie” performance scheduled for Friday, May 2. The theater department will announce a new date for the final show on their Facebook page, Stangs On Stage.

All four Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District campuses have earned recognition as Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. The prestigious designation honors schools that create positive learning environments through relationship building and developing meaningful connections with students.

The Bedias Creek Soil and Water Conservation District board met Monday, May 5 at Living Truth Church instead of Madisonville City Hall. The board celebrated Vice Chairman Stephen Petri’s 60th birthday before starting their meeting.

Items that arrive at the Museum come with a story or two. Recently we received a booklet from Thena Wilson Parrott, who now lives in College Station but has roots in Madisonville.

A Texas House bill would eliminate the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness test and replace it with a test comparing students’ performance to one another rather than stateset standards, the Austin American- Statesman reported.
