MCISD Welcomes New Trustees

The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees welcomed four members and reorganized its leadership during the Monday, June 9 meeting at the Administration Board Room. Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Miranda Butts administered the oath of office to Quincy Allen, Randi Pipes, Jason Cleere and Dale Hurst after all four ran unopposed for their positions.

Wayne Hogard, president of the Madison County Child Protective Services Board, poses with flamingos at the Singletary residence after moving the flock as part of the board’s fundraising campaign. The “Flamingo Flocking” initiative raises money to support local children in protective care by having donors pay to place the birds in yards, with proceeds funding essentials like clothing, birthday gifts, and the Rainbow Room emergency recourse center.

A competitor slices pork spare ribs during Saturday’s 42nd Annual BBQ Cook Off hosted by the Madisonville Sidewalk Cattlemen’s Association on May 31. The IBCA-sanctioned event featured a $5,000 payout with multiple categories, including chicken, pork spare ribs, and brisket.

1962 – 2025 Sonja Kim Ward was born on March 4, 1962, in Rockdale, Texas to Jack Calvin and Elizabeth Colwell Ward. She joined her older sister Lila, and two years later, their brother Darrel completed the LSD trio.
