The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) held their monthly board meeting for October and discussed the upcoming renewal of their transportation contract, which is currently with Durham Services but expires at the end of the year.

“We are going out for a request for proposal in December,” said Superintendent Keith Smith. “We will have thee requests back and choose a vendor in January. (Durham Services) has been here for decades, but when the contract term expires we do go back out and rebid it.”

Among the three organizations currently going out for the bid include Durham Services, First Student and Gold Star.

The position’s responsibilities include being in charge of home to school routes, following policies and procedures for student transportation and maintaining trip fleets, which are used for extracurricular activities. They are also responsible for maintaining maintenance for all of those buses.
