The vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday at Madisonville CISD was canceled due to the CDC and FDA recommending a pause on Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

The pause came as a result of an investigation involving six cases of dangerous blood clots out of the over 6.8 million doses administered thus far in the United States.

By the time approval came for a different brand of vaccine, the traveling staff set to administer the vaccine moved on to another clinic location.

“We are working on details for the clinic that was scheduled for (Saturday) at Monterey Mushrooms,” said Madison County Emergency Management Coordinator Shelly Butts. “Once confirmation is received, we will send out a reverse notification call and update our Facebook page, also.”
