Free Car Care Manuals from Chilton

April is National Car Care Month, which makes now the perfect time to research how to repair your vehicle with the free TexShare database, Chilton Library. Access repair manuals, recall information, and suggested maintenance for your particular vehicle at no cost. The Chilton database has information for the most popular cars, trucks, and SUVs on the road. You can find manuals dating from 1901 to 2021, so there is a plethora of useful information within the Chilton Library.

Chilton is the most trusted name in car care, and the Chilton Library database is a one-stop reference for up-to-date reliable car care guidance. You will be able to view step-by-step instructions on how to conduct repairs yourself, or you can use Chilton to educate yourself about your specific vehicle, making it easier to discuss repairs with your mechanic.

With troubleshooting guides, diagnostic trouble codes, photos, illustrations, diagrams, and videos, Chilton has simplified even the most complicated repairs, giving you a way to repair your own vehicle with confidence. There are even test-prep quizzes for the ASE mechanic certification for those who are planning to become an auto repair professional.

There are two ways to access this free database. First, you can visit the Madison County Library and one of our friendly staff will assist you with logging into the system on one of our computers. You can then print out maintenance lists, guides, and information for a small printing fee.

From home, you will need to login to your library account in our catalog using your library card number and phone number. The address to our catalog is madison.biblionix.com/ catalog. Once logged in, scroll down just a bit to our Electronic Resources section and click on TexShare. Then click on Resources A-Z, and choose the letter C, and Chilton Library will be the first link on the page.
