Madi McClure Joins Elite Rodeo Youth Team
The Priefert Junior Elite Team was formed five years ago to develop future leaders in the sport of rodeo. Over 130 applicants from all over the United States and Canada were chosen to support this well-known brand.
Madi McClure was one of the 130 rodeo athletes chosen, ages eight to 18. The 13 year old went through a lengthy process including an essay, completing community service and accomplishing much in the arena.
The Madisonville 8th grader is no stranger to the winners circle, in the goat tying and breakaway roping, at the Central Texas Youth Rodeo Association and the Texas Youth Ranch Rodeo Association.
“I am so excited to be a part of this team. It was an insane confidence booster to be chosen,” said Madi when asked what this opportunity meant.
Madi is sitting 6th out of over 20 girls in the CTYRA goat-tying standings. She is also showing a lot of improvement after a rough start in the breakaway roping.
Madi credits much of her success to her two leading horses, Quince and Dan. Quince is a 13 year old mare and Dan is a 20 year old gelding.
For this TYRRA season, Madi will be riding in two different age groups: the Intermediates and the Senior Girls. She has an opportunity to do very well on these two teams with a great set of teammates.
As apart of the Priefert Junior Team, Madi will have the opportunity to represent a prestigious brand, learn from pro athletes, and compete against some of the most formidable junior rodeo athletes in the country.
