Madisonville Senior Joeli Hardy Shines in Summer of Success
Madisonville Senior, Joeli Hardy has had an extremely successful and busy summer. The 17-year-old, along with another Madisonville native, traveled to Australia through the 4H Texas Youth Livestock and Agriculture.
Through this 10-day trip, Joeli and 35 other high school ambassadors were exposed to diversified agriculture. This program allows high school students to obtain knowledge about agriculture through a 3-step program including a short course, an advocacy academy and then traveling around the world while learning about all thing’s ag. Joeli was also given the opportunity to travel to Hawaii last summer through this program.
Joeli was also selected alongside 10 other students across the entire state of Texas to participate in the Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholars Program. This program is a community service driven, professional development program designed as a part-
Joeli Hardy partnership between the Texas FFA Association, the Texas FFA Foundation and Ford Motor Company.
After being selected, Joeli went through a training course in July that helps prepare students to make a lasting impact on their community. Through the community-based program, she is preparing for a project that could make a huge difference in our district and those surrounding.
Even when she was halfway around the world and making her way to the top of two different programs, Joeli still managed to be active in the Red Angus and Red Brangus shows. While being an active officer for her breed association, Joeli also attended Brangus Junior Nationals in Oklahoma and many other shows around the state of Texas.
With the start of her senior year, Joeli expressed how thankful she was for the opportunities she was presented over the last few months but also for finally being home, “mom and dad are happy to have me home.”
