Missing Bedias teen found safe in Gladewater
BEDIAS - Emma George, the 15-year-old girl who disappeared from Bedias Saturday, Nov. 1, was found safe Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Gladewater.
Authorities located George at approximately 2 p.m. in Gladewater, a town east of Dallas about 157 miles from Bedias. The nearly three-hour trip from where she went missing ended a four-day search that involved the Grimes County Sheriff's Office and the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley.
George had been missing since Saturday night when her brother discovered her bedroom window open and found she was gone from their father's house in the 7500 block of County Road 132 in Bedias.
She had taken her stepmother's gray 2017 Infiniti SUV, which had been reported stolen. Authorities believed she was with unrelated persons during her disappearance.
The Grimes County Sheriff's Office has not released details about the circumstances of how George was found or whether any arrests were made in connection with harboring the runaway teen.
George's mother, Joni George, had pleaded Monday for her daughter to come home, telling her the family loved her and everyone was looking for her.
