BEDIAS — The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a 15-year-old girl missing since Saturday night in the Bedias area.

Emma George was last seen about 8 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 7500 block of County Road 132 in Bedias, according to officials. She is described as a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Emma may be driving a gray 2017 Infiniti SUV with Texas license plate VTX5897. The vehicle belongs to her stepmother and is reported stolen.

Her mother, Joni George, has pleaded for her daughter to return home.

“I would tell her to come home, that we love her and everybody’s looking for her, please just come home,” she said Monday.

Emma's brother discovered she was missing Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. when he came home and found her bedroom window open at their father's house, according to Joni, When he told her to close the window and received no response, he turned on the light and found she was gone.

According to family members, this is not the first time Emma has left without permission. Her mother confirmed she has run away “a couple of times” before.

Chuck Fleeger, executive director of Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, said Monday, that Emma could be anywhere in the Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas or Oklahoma area.

Authorities believe she is with unrelated persons in violation of Texas Penal Code 25.06, which makes harboring a runaway child a Class A misdemeanor.

No relatives have seen or heard from Emma since Saturday night.

Law enforcement officials advised anyone who sees the SUV to not approach, and contact authorities immediately.
