Funeral services for Evelyn Whearley, age 93, of Madisonville, Texas were held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Interment followed in Madisonville Cemetery.

Evelyn passed away January 2, 2022 at her home in Madisonville. She was born Evelyn Agnes Valchar August 18, 1928 in Caldwell, Texas to Augustin & Vlasta (Navratilova) Valchar. Evelyn held the honor of being crowned Avon Beauty Queen, August 1963. She had lived in Hitchcock, Texas for thirty-three years and worked as a dental assistant. Evelyn and her husband had made Madisonville their home for the past thirty-two years and were members of First Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas.

Surviving family members include husband, J.B. Whearley of Madisonville; daughters, Susan Burch (James) of Santa Fe and Donna Kellow (Raymond) of Galveston; brother, Melvin Valchar; granddaughter, Rachael Renz (Jason) of Santa Fe and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kaitlyn and Lucas.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
