JESSY ANDREW “DREW” MONTGOMERY

Our beloved Jessy Andrew “Drew” Montgomery, age 63, of Madisonville, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2022 in his home in Canyon Lake, TX. He was surrounded by his wife, two daughters, and grandson, who happened to be visiting.

Drew was born in Houston, Texas to Jessy & Florence Montgomery on August 1, 1958 and moved to Madisonville at the age of 3, where he attended grades K through 12. He married Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Rigby on March 27, 1982, graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, and worked in food, medical sales and, eventually, owned his own promotional products sales company before he retired.

Drew lived and breathed football and played at Navarro College and Texas Christian University. In 1977 he was named All-American JC Grid Wire by unanimous vote.

Drew had a huge personality and an even bigger heart. His presence was one to demand attention whether he wanted it or not, and he left a lasting impression with anyone he met. He would truly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and was a role model to many.

He made an impact on countless people and his loss leaves a huge void in all our lives. He was an inspiring individual who made us better versions of ourselves.

Drew is preceded in death by his father, William J. Montgomery, and his sister, Connie Dee Regan.

Drew is survived by his wife, Kathy Montgomery, his daughters, Jordan Montgomery & Taylor Wasinger, his grandson, Jack Wasinger, his mother Florence Montgomery, and his sisters Tracy Carter & Monica Porras.

A memorial service will be held at CRRC (Community Resource Recreation Center) - 125 Mabel Jones Dr, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, on Saturday April 16 at 1:30 p.m.
