HORACE H. BARNETT, JR.

Horace H. Barnett, Jr., age 75, of Bedias, Texas passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Huntsville, Texas. Funeral services honoring his life were held 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Ben Sams officiated the service. Interment followed in Barnett Family Cemetery, Bedias, Texas.

Horace H. Barnett, Jr. was born January 10, 1947 in Gilmer, Texas. His parents were Horace H., Sr. and Erma (Hart) Barnett. Horace was raised in Bedias and was a graduate of Madisonville High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and proudly served his country. He had worked in the Agriculture department of TDCJ in various area units until his retirement from Pack 1, Navasota, Texas. Horace was a lifelong rancher and was passionate about his work. He loved being a lifelong resident of Bedias and working cattle on his family land. Both he and his wife, Patti, were members of Bedias Baptist Church, Bedias, Texas.

Horace was preceded in death by both of his parents and nephew, Cory D. Burr.

Surviving family members include wife, Patti Barnett; son, Brent (Heather) Barnett; daughters, Carla (Bob) Humphrey and Jada Mullins; daughter-in-law, Tracy Padon; grandchildren, Bryce (Taylor) Humphrey, Paige Padon, Mason Humphrey, Jake Padon, Hayden Barnett, Asel Barnett and Augustus Barnett; great-grandchildren, Carter, Logan and Saylor Humphrey; sister, Gloria (Dwight) Burr; brother, Gary (Cindi) Hudson; sisters-in-law, Sharron (Donald) Coburn and Donna (Charles) Robinson; brother-in-law, Chuckie King; nieces, Cari Burr and Heather Coburn and nephews, Chad and Tony Langley and Wayne and Jason Coburn, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

The Barnett family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Dr. Lawrence Wells and Millicent Jones who were more than just medical professionals but dear friends, as well.
