Madisonville man arrested on child pornography charges

The Madisonville Police Department executed an arrest warrant apprehending 45-year-old Pranai Patel on charges of possession or promotion of child pornography on Thursday, May 9.

The MPD was assisted by the Madisonville Consolidated ISD Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, who helped execute the arrest warrant. 

“The arrest of Patel marks a significant milestone in a comprehensive investigation initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation targeting the dissemination and promotion of illicit material involving minors,” Police Chief Herbert Gilbert said. 

According to the department, the investigation is still in progress. Patel was booked into Madison County Jail but released on a $50,000 bond.
