Johnny William Gierisch, Sr., 96 years, 4 months, and 3 days, of Belton, TX, passed away June 22, 2024 in Belton, TX. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Plainview Cemetery in Normangee, TX.

Johnny was born on February 19, 1928 in Mason, TX to Edmund George and Elsie Wilhelmine (Schneider) Gierisch.

He proudly served his country during World War II in The United States Army. Johnny had a career with The United States Postal Service which spanned thirty-eight years which included time as the Postmaster at the North Zulch, TX post office.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Golda Faye (Stuart) Gierisch; his son James Guy Gierisch; and his seven siblings.

Johnny is survived by his children, Susan Bond of Belton, TX, Gary Gierisch of North Zulch, TX, Johnny Gierisch, Jr. of Normangee, TX, and Diane Gierisch of Brownwood, TX; his brothers, Carl and Dorman; his eight grandchildren; and his eleven great grandchildren.
