Kenneth Goodrum was born on September 27, 1939 in Madisonville, Texas to Allen H. Goodrum and Ida (Price) Goodrum and passed away on June 30, 2024 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 84. The greater portion of Kenneth’s life was spent in Bedias, Texas and surrounding areas.

Kenneth was an avid fisherman who always looked forward to the next big catch. He also spent time hunting and was comfortable outdoors. It was certainly one of his favorite places to be. Kenneth was passionate about farming and everything related to the task of cultivating the land and caring for cattle. He also enjoyed his time in the rig and navigating the roads in his eighteen-wheeler. Another item on Kenneth’s list of must-haves was watermelon which he relished with his family on numerous occasions. More than anything else, Kenneth loved and adored his family, and time spent with them was time best spent.

A funeral service for Kenneth was held at Madisonville Funeral Home Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. followed by interment in Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Ida Goodrum and one brother, Richard Allen Goodrum.

Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory include his loving and faithful wife of 61 years, Shirley Upchurch Goodrum of Huntsville, Texas; son, Shane Goodrum (Debra) of Chandler, OK; daughter, Dell Marie Kemper (Danny Ray) of Centerville, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Dustin Keith Goodrum (Brenda), Kelsey Finto (Tommy), Lucas Finto (Leah), Nick Finto (Hannah), and Heath Kemper (Melissa); 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

Pallbearers were Dustin Goodrum, Allen Goodrum, Grady Wallace, Lucas Finto, Nick Finto, Tommy Benners, Trey Wallace, Troy Price.

The final arrangements for Kenneth Goodrum were under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
