1928-2024

Willie W. Turner, 96 years, 2 months, and 14 days, of Centerville, TX passed away Wednesday, November 27, in Cleveland, TX. The graveside service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Allphin Cemetery in Midway, TX. The visitation was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. prior to graveside service at Day Funeral Home. Bro. Lon McVeigh officiated.

Willie was born on September 13, 1928 in Truman, AR to Charles and Effie (Rouse) Turner. He was a contractor his whole life who enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved his church family at The Living Truth Church.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Helen (Smith) Turner and Stella (Perry) Turner; his sisters, Thelma Hughes, Jessie Secrease, and Ima Jean Dillard; his brother, Verlin Turner; and his son, Darrell Wayne Turner.

Willie is survived by his wife, Sophia (Perez) Turner; his children, Dannie Turner and his wife, Sherry and Mary Moreno and her husband, Arthur; his grandchildren, Daniel Turner, Maryellen Moreno, Jennifer Touchstone and her husband Paul, and Stella Grissom; his great grandchild, Liam Touchstone; his sister, Bessie Polston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Willie’s love extended to both his biological family and his blended family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their families.

Serving as pallbearers were Daniel Turner, Thomas Milburn, Austin Dommert, Paul Touchstone, and Kevin Salle. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Dannie Turner.
