Lady Cougars take down Lady Mustangs

All gas, no breaks for China Spring as they took down the Madisonville Lady Mustangs on the diamond at on Monday 9-1.

The Lady Mustangs fell behind early and couldn’t mount a comeback as they were limited to just four hits in the game.

Down just 2-0 heading into the third inning Madisonville finally crossed home plate. Jadyn Hooten led off the inning with a single on a 2-2 count. Brynlee Urbantke laid down a sacrifice bunt that moved Hooten to second. A misplayed ball pushed Hooten to third. Grace Coleman reached on a bobbled play by the China Spring shortstop that allowed Hooten to score the Lady Mustangs only run of the game.

China Spring finished off the game scoring in the third and fifth innings and finally adding four scores in the sixth sealing the win.

Coming off back-to-back losses Madisonville’s record stands at 11- 14-1. The Lady Mustangs concluded the regular season on Tuesday at home against Connally.
