BETTY JEAN (MITCHELL) GOSS

Betty Jean (Mitchell) Goss, 88 years, 3 months, and 29 days, who was a long-time resident of Madisonville, TX passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Pasadena, TX. Graveside services were 1 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Allphin Cemetery with Bro. Glenn Connor officiated.

Betty was born on September 20, 1936 in Austin, TX to Alton Boyd Mitchell and Georgia Connolly (Harris) Mitchell. She was a member of the first graduating class of McCallum High School in Austin, TX and was a long-time employee of the Pasadena Citizen newspaper where her personality of never meeting a stranger resulted in her often being the leader in classified sales for the newspaper.

Most importantly, Betty was a wife and a mother to her four boys who enjoyed taking care of their home.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Montford “Monte” Goss; her son, Charles Mitchel Goss; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Goss.

Betty is survived by her sons, Monte Randall Goss, David West Goss, and Gordon Ray Goss; and her sister, Sharon Lancaster.
