MINNIE CLARICE (GAYLE) CALDWELL

1939 – 2025 Minnie Clarice (Gayle) Caldwell, 85 years, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 in Tyler, TX. Her life was celebrated 3 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville, TX with Bro. Alton Gayle officiating.

Minnie was born on October 9, 1939 to Carl and Ola Mae (Crow) Gayle in Magnolia, TX.

She graduated from Madisonville High School and was a longtime employee with GTE (now known as Verizon). After retiring from GTE, she cared for the elderly in their homes and volunteered at the local library. Minnie was a life-time member of The Eastern Star and supported their charitable causes and community services.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bobby Caldwell; her son, George Wier; her daughter, Lois Wier; and her brother, Walter Gayle.

Minnie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Wawzyniak; her brothers, Melvin Gayle and Alton Gayle; and her niece,

Melissa Wier.
