Ellen (Evans) Jenkines, 78 years, 2 months, and 10 days of Madisonville, TX, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Bryan, TX. Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at The First Methodist Church in Madisonville, TX with Rev.

Ellen was born on September 22, 1947 in Madisonville, TX to Fred Evans, Jr. and June (Lynch) Evans. She graduated from Madisonville High School in 1966 and attended Sam Houston State University before becoming a wife, a mother, “Mops”, and her favorite title “Mimi.” Ellen was a long-time member of The First Methodist Church active in an array of activities including being a member of The Joy of Living Sunday School Class, working with the youth choir programs, and being a faithful volunteer with the local ASK (After School Kids) program and their annual father-daughter dance.
Ellen enjoyed socializing with her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority friends and watching her great grandson Lane as he participated in rodeos, football, and basketball. She was so immensely proud of her family and that was evident to all who spoke with her.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lunn Evans.
Ellen is survived by her children, Leslie and Russell (Lacey); her grandchildren, Kasey (Matt), Haley, Lauren (Kreger), and Jordan; her great grandchildren, Lane and Kyra; her niece, Amy; and her special family and friends, Lola and Stephen Padgett, Josh Padgett, Kim Portz, and Debby Whitehead.
