BILLY DON EMERT
1952 – 2025
Billy Don Emert, 73 years, 3 months, and 19 days, of The Mount Tabor Community in Madisonville, TX passed away Sunday; December 21, 2025 in Bryan, TX.
His life was celebrated 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025, at Day Funeral Home with the burial following at North Mount Tabor Cemetery.
The visitation was began at 2 p.m. prior to the service and Bro. Glenn Connor officiated.
Don was born on September 2, 1952 to absolute wonderful parents, Clint and Joyce (Williams) Emert who are now both deceased and Don was their only child. He was a man of few words, you couldn’t have had a better friend, and he’d always be there for you.
In the early 1970’s, Don was a mechanic and joined The National Guard and soon began building homes throughout Texas. He always made time for trail rides with his friends and when hunting season came around, he could be found with his parents and their deer camp in Normangee.
Don began working in Houston around 1983 and he was accidentally electrocuted in 1986 which caused him to have severe brain damage. Since then, he struggled thru more health issues, including two broken and replaced hips in 2020. In July of 2021, Don was diagnosed with chronic end stage kidney failure which resulted in dialysis treatments three times each week.
Don is survived by his son, Michael Edward Emert and his wife Samantha; his five grandchildren; his aunt, his cousins; and lots of friends who were close to him like family.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Williams, Gideon Hubbard, Buddy Ward, Keilan King, Peyton Emert, and Stephen Petri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to North Mount Tabor Cemetery Association (Post Office Box 1236; Madisonville, TX 77864).
