DORIS JO (MIZE) ENGELKING

Doris Jo (Mize) Engelking; 80 of College Station, TX; passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in College Station, TX. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday; August 1, 2021 at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX with the burial following at Midway City Cemetery. Joel Douget and Loyd Harper will officiate. The visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon on Sunday, also at Day Funeral Home Chapel.

Doris Jo was born on December 25, 1940 in Madisonville, TX to Leo and Linnie (Talley) Mize. She attended school in Madisonville, she attended Sam Houston State University, and was the owner/operator of Western Real Estate and Management in Bryan/ College Station, TX for many years.

Doris Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug Harper; her daughter, Angelique Harper; her brothers, Leo Mize, Jr. and Tommy Mize; and her in-laws, Paul and Bertha Harper. She is survived by her son Loyd Paul Harper (Kelle); her grandchildren, Charli Black (Joel) and Duce Harper (Andrea); her great grandchildren, Murphy, Noah, and Jett Black; her sister, Arlene Kuta (Eddie), her half-sister, Regina Mize; Max McCammond; and numerous relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were: Juan Chavez, Lupe Sifuentes, Peter Lockett, Max McCammond, Clint Wakefield, and Vicente Yanez.
