JOHNNY VALDEZ
Juan Alfredo “Johnny” Valdez; 61 of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Tuesday; August 24, 2021 in Bryan, TX with his mother, Margaret Valdez, by his side. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday; September 4, 2021 at Jozye Cemetery in Madisonville, TX where he will be laid to rest by his beloved wife, Nelda. Lynn Reed will officiate. The visitation is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. also at Jozye Cemetery.
Johnny was born on December 5, 1959 in Port Clinton, OH to Juan and Margaret (Garcia) Valdez. He graduated from Madisonville High School and worked in the petroleum industry his whole life. Johnny enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, playing his guitar, and sky diving. For many years, he served our community as the pastor at The Madisonville Care Center where he was a friend to many and where he will be greatly missed. Most of all, Johnny loved the Lord, and at every opportunity, shared his love for Christ.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda (Gonazales) Valdez and his father, Juan Valdez. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Worley (Caleb); his grandchildren, Ryan and Ayvabella Griffin; his mother, Margaret Valdez; and his siblings, Joe Valdez, Mariana Garcia, Anna Shires, and James Valdez.
