RODNEY ROBERT POE

Rodney Poe, 74, passed away August 24, 2021 in Houston, Texas. A service celebrating his life was held 2 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Brad Brock officiated the service. Interment followed in Jozye Cemetery in rural Madison County.

Rodney Robert Poe was born November 6, 1946 in Navasota, Texas to Thomas Allen & Ruby (Pyle) Poe. He valiantly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. Rodney graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1969 and made his career as a Probation Officer. He enjoyed yard work, was an avid weather watcher and loved his dogs. Spending time with his granddaughter brought Rodney great joy. She was the star of his life. Rodney was a lifetime resident of Bedias and was Baptist in faith. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and half-sister, Annie Ruth Reiland.

Survivors include loving wife, Yvonne Poe of Bedias; son, Ryan Poe & wife, Mindy of North Zulch; granddaughter, Allisyn Poe of North Zulch and brother, Tommy Poe & wife, Kathy of Bedias.

Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas was entrusted with arrangements.
