Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Cronin, 102, of Bedias, Texas were held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Robert Joseph Crowder officiated the service and interment followed in Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Michael Gardner, Sr., Timothy James, Daniel James, Jason House, Joshua House, Mickey Miles

Honorary Pallbearers: Esther Goodson, Brenda House, Beverly Bryant

Alvin Cronin was born August 8, 1919 in Macedonia, Texas to Austin & Nellie (Hues) Cronin. He was Church of Christ in faith and had lived in Bedias for the past twenty-one years, coming from Magnolia where he had resided for eighty-one years. Before retirement, Alvin was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator and welder. He passed away October 19, 2021 at his home in Bedias. Alvin was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Elsie Leaser Cronin; son, Alvin D. Cronin; an infant daughter and sister, Jewell Thames.

Surviving family members include stepson, Tommy Parker of Commerce; daughters, Esther Goodson of Bedias; Brenda House (Jerry) of Cotulla and Beverly Bryant (Bobby) of Crosby; brother, Arthur Cronin (Fredia) of Big Sandy; grandchildren, Amber Parker, Amanda Cronin, Michael Gardner, Meredith Crowder, Amy Gardner, Jason House, Joshua House, Mickey Miles, Michael Trevino, Timothy James, Ruth Ann Rawlins, Daniel James and Rachel Dean; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren and special friend and caregiver, Debra Carroll Starlet.

The Cronin family wishes to thank the staff of First Choice Hospice including physicians, nurses and chaplains for their excellent care of Alvin during his final days.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
