1960 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Kay Franks, who left us on June 23, 2025, at the age of 65. Born to Robert Henry Vaught and Esther Andrews Miller on April 28, 1960, in Bryan, Texas, Angela lived a life filled with love, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Angela was a miracle from the very beginning, possessing a natural talent for connecting with others, especially children. As a teachers’ aide in the Special Education Department, she showcased her gift for making a difference in young lives, bringing joy and understanding to those she worked with.

Her nurturing spirit was evident in her daily life, as she found immense joy in holding babies and playing with her beloved grandchildren.

A dedicated homemaker and talented crafter, Angela could turn her creative visions into reality, leaving a legacy of beautiful quilts, delicious meals, and cherished memories.

She had a unique flair for finding treasures at garage sales, embodying the thrill of discovery and the joy of a good find. Angela’s passion for life extended beyond her family; she approached everything she did with an open heart and a gentle touch.

Angela was preceded in death by her father; aunt, Linda Kay Spikes; and grandmother, Ruby McMahon. She is survived by her mother, Esther Miller of North Zulch, Texas; husband, Greg Franks of Whitney, Texas; sons, Matthew Pope (Taylor McCathern) of Italy, Texas and Mark Pope of Whitney, Texas; cherished grandchildren, Colton and Raelyn Pope; sister, Bobbie Gail Jeffries of North Zulch, Texas; and brother, Mike Vaught (Cindy) of North Zulch, Texas.

A funeral service for Angela was held 10 a.m.

Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Pastor Matt Murry officiated the service. Interment followed in Willowhole Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matthew Pope, Mark Pope, Brandon Pope, Daniel Pope, Garrett Pope, Justin Vaught.

In lieu of flowers, the Franks family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
