ARDITH ROGERS
Ardith Rogers was born on October 7, 1942 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to William Floyd Smith and Mary Elizabeth Fern Hutchens. Her biological father and mother were divorced when she was very young, and her mother married her “Daddy,” Glen Jasper Pace.
Ardith was predeceased by her mother and daddy, as well as all six of her siblings, Carolyn Sloan, William Smith, Jerry Smith, Irvin Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Glenda Pace.
Ardith is survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter W. Rogers; four daughters, Rebecca Morris and husband, Allen, Gail Butler and husband, Randy, Shauna Jenkins and husband, Lloyd, and Kristy Carroll; seven grandchildren, Magan Smith and husband, Greg, Trae Williams and wife, Ann Marie, Clint Morris and wife, Natalie, Taylor Williams, Tory Williams, Sydney Carroll and Seth Carroll; six great-grandchildren, Sophia, Addison, Emma, Jaycee, Ryker, and Cooper.
“Miss Ardith”, as referred to by her husband Walt and all masons and their ladies in Texas, served as First Lady of Texas Masons in 2013. She was also very active in the Order of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of Madisonville Chapter #193 and Iola Chapter #458.
Miss Ardith loved Elvis, “The Young and the Restless,” Kenny Rogers, hummingbirds, lighthouses, bluebonnets, the beach and water (even though she couldn’t swim a lick). She loved her grandkids, great-grandkids, and most especially, her four daughters.
Miss Ardith was a lady of very high morals and unique sayings and will be missed by anyone who ever came in contact with her. Remember Miss Ardith, “We loved you then. We love you still. We always have and we always will.”
A funeral service for Miss Ardith was held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Interment followed at Bedias Methodist Cemetery in Bedias, Texas.
