BARBARA ANN (MERCHANT) DUNBAR

1940 — 2026

Barbara Ann (Merchant) Dunbar, 85 years of Boerne, passed away March 26, 2026. Graveside services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Barbara was born on November 2, 1940 in Houston to Gerald Allen Merchant and Esther Mae Merchant and was a longtime employee of Aldine, Humble, and Spring school districts. She was also an active member of Woodsdale/Northbelt Church of the Nazarene.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Francis Dunbar; her daughter, Connie Elliott; and her siblings, Mary Hardy, Geraldine McNeil, Clarence Merchant, and Jimmy Merchant.

She is survived by her children, Linda Barwig (Rick), Peggy Peel (Bubba), Gina Wilson, Randy Dunbar (Toni), Allen Dunbar, and Sean Dunbar; her bonus children, Diana Williams, Melissa Rzeszutek (Eddie), and Rick Dunbar (Roxan); her 13 grandchildren; and her 5 great grandchildren.
