Brenda Joy (Smith) Reno; 81 years, 1 day; passed away on Sunday; April 17, 2022 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday; April 23, 2022 at The First Baptist Church in Madisonville, TX with the burial to follow at Madisonville Cemetery in Madisonville, TX. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m., also at The First Baptist Church.

Brenda was born on April 16, 1941 in Madisonville, TX to L.T. and Rachel Grace (Carter) Smith. Brenda’s dad passed away when she was a child and her mom later married Nate Avett, who raised her. She attended school in Madisonville and married James Anderson Reno and they had been married for sixty-four years. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her son, James Curtis “Bud” Reno. She is survived by her husband; her children, Cheryl Ann Reno and Donna Reno O’Brien (Curtis); her grandchildren, Kimberly Reno Cubillos (Josh), J.C. Reno (Morgan), Clint Reno

(Amber), Amanda McGowen, Caleb O’Brien (Kelsey), Brittany O’Brien Craft (Ethan), Carter O’Brien, and Brianna Brooke O’Brien; and her great grandchildren, Kylin Cubillos, Briley Cubillos, Sonin “Sonny” Cubillos, Kyndall Smith, James Walker Reno, Emma Reno, Cooper Reno, Beau Reno, Atlas O’Brien, Haydan Craft, and Darlin Joy Craft.

Serving as pallbearers are: Caleb O’Brien, Carter O’Brien, J. C. Reno, Clint Reno, Josh Cubillos, and Ethan Craft. Serving as the honorary pallbearer is: Curtis O’Brien.
