COY FRANK POWERS, JR.

Coy Frank Powers, Jr; 83 years and 9 months; from Leona, TX; passed away on January 5, 2022 in Bryan, TX. Graveside services were scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday; January 10, 2022 at Leona Cemetery in Leona, TX with Mark Gray officiating.

Coy was born on April 5, 1938 in Marion, SC and he served his country in The United States Navy from 1955 to 1959 and was in the reserves from 1959 to 1963. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked as a marine cable assembler and as a musician. He really was considered a “jack of all trades.”

Coy was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Kay (Wigington) Powers and his mom and dad, Mildred and Waymon McClain.

Coy is survived by his children, Coy Gene Powers, George Anthony “Andy” Powers, Tammy Kay (Powers) Billingsley, Shelly Denise (Powers) Parker, Becky Regina (Powers) Peters, and Bonnie Ann (Powers) Madore; his companion, Susan Standley; and numerous other family members.
