ESSIA ELIZABETH SANDLES
Essia Elizabeth Sandles was born December 30, 1939 in the Greenbriar Community of Madison County to Essie “Edward” and Archie Mable Webber Mitchell. She received her education from Marian Anderson School. Essia married Marion Sandles November 24, 1964 and she worked as a Teacher’s Aide for Madisonville Elementary for over twenty years. Essia was a member of Sweet Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and coloring.
Essia made the journey to eternal glory January 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Marion Sandles; son, Kenneth Earl Sandles; sisters, Lovie Yancey, Birdie Haynes, Jessie McAdams and Winfrey Taylor; and brother, Joe David Mitchell.
Those left to cherish and carry on her memory include sons, Clint (Rosa) Sandles, Jason (Keisha) Sandles and Brandon Gilbert; grandchildren, Raegan, Silas and Thomas Sandles; and great grandchild, Kashton Sandles, as well as, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services for Essia was held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas. Interment followed in High Prairie Cemetery.
