GARY RAY HUTCHINS

1951-2025

Gary Ray Hutchins, 73 years, 10 months, and 14 days, of Round Rock, TX passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Round Rock. Gary’s life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX. Jimmy and Karolann Clopton will officiate.

“Hutch,” as he was known to his family and friends, was born on January 9, 1951 in Pasadena, TX to Herbert Hutchins and Pearl (Breneman) Hutchins. He graduated from M.B. Smiley High School in Houston, TX in 1969 and served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, Hutch went to work for Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) where he worked for over thirty-eight years.

Hutch was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Herbert “Herbie” Hutchins. Hutch is survived by his wife of over forty-two years, Paula (Malzahn) Hutchins; his son, Brent Hutchins and his wife Courtney; his son Travis Hutchins and his wife Ashley; his granddaughter, Evelyn Hutchins; his grandsons, Hayes Hutchins and Riley Hutchins, and his sister Shirley (Hutchins) Nuckolls and her husband Ron.
