Gerald Truett “Jerry” Wester, 83 years of Madisonville, passed away February 7, 2026. Jerry’s life will be celebrated 3 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Day Funeral Home. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. and the burial will follow at a later date at Madisonville City Cemetery.

Jerry was born on December 25, 1942 in Madisonville to Truett

Neely Wester and Jessie

Louise (Jones) Wester. He graduated from Madisonville High School and The University of North Texas and soon began his career in medical equipment sales.

When Jerry retired, he moved back to Madisonville and became a faithful member of The First Methodist Church. Jerry enjoyed teaching history, hunting, fishing, golfing, and taking care of his dogs.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Datus Sharp, Jr.

He is survived by his children, LeeAnn Neill, Bill Wester, James Wester, and Erin Moss and their spouses; his 12 grandchildren, his 3 great grandchildren; his sister, LaMuriel Sharp; his nieces Jeri Lynne Smith and Jill Vaughan and their spouses; and an extended family of great-nieces and great-nephews.
