HARRY WINSTON TINSLEY
HARRY WINSTON TINSLEY
1933-2024
Harry Winston Tinsley, born on June 20, 1933, in Madison County, Texas, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thanksgiving morning. He was the cherished son of Harry Lee Tinsley and Anna Pauline Carter. Harry was a devoted husband to Virginia Ann Sanders, with whom he shared 58 blessed years of marriage until her passing in 2017.
A faithful member of the Methodist Church in Madisonville since 1950, Harry’s life was deeply rooted in his spiritual beliefs. His unwavering faith guided him through life’s journey, offering solace and strength to those around him.
Harry was a loving father to Christopher Lamar and Joe Winston, and a proud military veteran who served with honor in the 1st Infantry Division, “The Big Red One.” His dedication to his country was paralleled by his passion for ranching and his love for animals, which he cherished throughout his life.
The most rewarding chapter of Harry’s life was his role as a grandfather. Together with Virginia, he embraced the joy of raising their granddaughter, Madison, from the tender age of one month. In 1993, they legally adopted her, providing a nurturing and supportive home that shaped her future.
Harry’s life was a testament to the virtues of family, service, and compassion. His legacy will be cherished by all who knew him, especially his beloved granddaughter Madison, who was the light of his life.
Harry Winston Tinsley will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his contributions to his family and community will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of the Almighty.
A visitation will occur 10 a.m. Thursday, December 4, with the funeral immediately following at 11 a.m. at Madisonville Funeral Home.
