Hayden Quinn Martinez was born December 25, 1995 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Throughout his father’s career as a high school football coach, Hayden lived in numerous cities and attended numerous schools but the ones dear to his heart were Warren, Brenham, Somerville, and Iola.

Hayden completed his high school education at Iola ISD in Iola, Texas in 2015. Throughout his childhood and on through high school, Hayden excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He lived, slept and breathed everything sports and trained rigorously to always better himself. Hayden’s dedication to sports made him an accomplished player and garnered much deserved attention for his skill and hard work. During his four-year high school career, Hayden earned the distinction of not only being 3-TIME ALL-STATE in football and Iola’s ALL-TIME LEADING RUSHER, but he finished his high school football career as #2 ALL-TIME IN THE HISTORY OF TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL in “Career Touchdowns and Career Scoring”. To this day, Hayden still holds these honors.

Since graduating high school Hayden, along with several of his high school friends, have worked in construction in and out of the state.

Hayden’s life was tragically taken December 6, 2020. He is preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Pete Martinez Sr. and Reinaldo and Celia Sapata; and great uncle, Nicky Martinez.

Surviving family members include father and step-mother, Pete and Jodi Martinez of North Zulch; mother, Kimberly Neal Martinez of Wichita Falls; paternal grandparents, Bo & Selinda Martinez of Wichita Falls; maternal grandmother, Patty Neal of Wichita Falls and maternal grandparents, Mike & Patsy Crocker of North Zulch; paternal great-grandmother, Delfina Martinez of Wichita Falls; brothers, Trenton Martinez of Wichita Falls and Braylon & Stryker Martinez of North Zulch; sisters, Ashley Bray of Wichita Falls and Kynzlee Theiss of North Zulch; great uncle, Uncle David Gourlie; and great aunt, Debbie Scholl. Hayden is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as, many close friends.

A celebration of Hayden’s life was held 2 P.M., Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Iola I.S.D. Football Stadium, a place that holds many fond memories for Hayden’s family and friends.
