Iwron Maxine (Ferguson) Grimes, 90 years, 7 months, and 2 days, a long-time resident of Madisonville, TX passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 in Rowlett, TX. A private burial was scheduled for 12 p.m.

Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Madisonville City Cemetery.

Maxine, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on July 13, 1934 in Midway, TX to Jim and Lois (Hall) Ferguson. She graduated from Madisonville High School in 1952 and was a housewife who was devoted to raising her four daughters.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, W.O. Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, and Donnie Ferguson; and her sister, Rheda White.

Maxine is survived by her sisters, Jo Hillegeist and Melba Byers; her daughters, Debra Willis (Tom), Brenda Starr (Tim), Peggy Wilson, and Lisa McGalliard; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jackie, Brook, Clay, Molly, Connor, Megan, and Trenton; her great grandchildren, Cooper, Jay-Cee, Bonham, Ruby, Grayson, and Presley; and numerous other family member.

Maxine was the first child born to Jim and Lois Ferguson and she was greatly loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her family, and by all who knew her. She loved family times at Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw’s house sharing her love for laughter and music.

While we will miss her, we are comforted in knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus and we will be reunited with her and spend eternity in the presence of Jesus in God’s New Heaven.
