JANELLE VENABLE BENSON

1942 – 2025

Janelle Venable Benson, 83, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2025. A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at High Prairie Cemetery, 1554 FM 2289, in Madisonville, Texas.

Janelle was born on August 19, 1942, in Madison County, Texas to parents Agnes and Alvin Venable. She grew up in the community and attended Madisonville High School and was part of the graduating class of 1961. That same year, Janelle began working at the Burtis Drug Store. She also lived in Buffalo and Kingsville, Texas.

Janelle enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, painting, pottery making, and embroidery. She loved making special things for people she knew. She also loved growing beautiful flowers in her garden, anything Aggie, and shopping with her loving sister, Janice. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Bryan where she was a longtime member.

Janelle is preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Alvin Venable; her husband, Fred C. Benson; sister, Ireta Snow; brothers, Lionel Lee Venable, Billy Don Venable, Thomas Venable, Morris Venable; and brother-inlaw, Eugene Davee.

Janelle is survived by her sister, Janice Venable Davee; sister-in-law, Beverly Benson; brotherin- law, Clark Benson; 2 nephews, 3 nieces 3 great nephews and 5 great nieces.
