Jimmy Keith Ketchum, 76, of Madisonville, Texas passed away on May 1, 2022 in Madisonville, Texas. Jimmy was born to Robert Homer and Anna Laura (Tarpley) Ketchum on July 28, 1945 in Harris County, Texas and was raised in Elwood, Texas. Jimmy worked for fifty-two years hauling fuel to farmers and ranchers in Madison County, as well as surrounding counties. He retired in 2019. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and treated his customers like family, as well. He loved being in Elwood with his cattle and tending to his garden. Jimmy also loved to go bird hunting, as well as deer hunting and was very involved in the local community, including the county fair and serving as a Master Mason for Madisonville Masonic Lodge #740.

He was not a man of many words, but when he spoke his words carried truth, kindness, and honesty.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Helen (Dyer) Ketchum of Madisonville; son, Clayton “Keith” Ketchum (Kelly) of Madisonville; daughter, Laura Kay “Kat” Horn (Richie) of Waller; siblings, Sue Gibson of Madisonville, Paula Mosley (Ray) of Madisonville and Peggy Stark of Midway and grandchildren, Lacey, Tyler, Reagan, Caroline and Caden. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Wyndell Ketchum and brother-in-law, Fernon Gibson.

A funeral service was held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Burial was in Allphin Cemetery in the Elwood Community of Madison County.

Pallbearers: Stan Ketchum, Heath Gibson, Russell Mosley, Steve Mosley, Clint Stark, Tommy Nesmith

Honorary Pallbearers: John Hardy, C. Jack Hunter, Larry Grimes, Bobby Wise

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
