John Kindon, a loving husband, father, and grandfather; dedicated public servant; and cherished member of the community, passed away May 7, 2024 at his home in Madisonville, Texas. Born on September 21, 1960, in Henrietta, Texas, to the late William Doyle and Ruby Dell Kindon, John’s devotion to service and compassion shone brightly throughout his entire life.

Embarking on his professional journey as a lineman, John discovered his true passion for protecting and serving the public, transitioning into a distinguished law enforcement officer in 1980. Alongside his commitment to law enforcement, John selflessly dedicated his time as a volunteer firefighter, a noble endeavor he pursued since the tender age of sixteen.

In addition to his illustrious career, John found solace in simple pleasures, such as fishing, fixing things, and meticulously tending to his yard. However, his greatest joy was undoubtedly found in the loving embrace of his beloved family.

John was preceded in death by both of his parents; father-in-law, R.L. Hawkins and mother-inlaw, Arlene Hawkins.

John will forever be remembered by his devoted spouse, Nancy Kindon, who stood by his side through every joy and hardship, exemplifying the true essence of a loving partnership. His memory will also be cherished by his children, Tiffany Arlene Henry of Madisonville, Devin Kindon (Jessica) of Corsicana and Brent Beck of Groesbeck; brother, Bill Kindon of Athens; sisters, Judy Seaton of Athens, Theresa Harris of Texas and Susie Watts (David) of Seale and grandchildren, Benjamin Charles Henry of Madisonville and Wyatt Kindon of Corsicana; as well as his special furry friend, Harvey.

As we mourn the loss of John, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the immeasurable impact he had on all fortunate enough to cross his path. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
