JOYCE ANN (LANE) GOODRUM

1945-2024

Joyce Ann (Lane) Goodrum, 79 years, 7 months and 14 days, of Madisonville, TX passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her home. Joyce’s life was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2024, at Day Funeral Home with the burial following at Joyze Cemetery. The visitation was from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Day Funeral Home. Bro. Tuffy Loftin officiated.

“Gaga,” as she was known to her family, friends, and to all the children she cared for throughout Madison County, was born on January 14, 1945 to Ila Bell Burnett and Rufus Franklin Burnett. Gaga was the owner/operator of the long-time children’s daycare in Madisonville, known simply as “Papa’s and Gaga’s Little Critters Daycare” for twenty-eight years.

Gaga was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Wille Ruben “Dude” Goodrum and her parents.

Gaga is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Tanner West, Trenton Colgrove, Hunter Steele, Jerry Parker, Yance West, and Richard Westmoreland. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Billy Burnett, Gary Lindsey, Joey Blakely, Earl Goodrum, Gatlin Steele, Roy Davis, and Willie McAdams.
