1941-2024

Lynda Sue (Marsh) Trichel, 83, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2024, after a long battle with dementia.

Lynda was born to June Cameron Marsh and Sarah Alice (Williams) Marsh on August 23, 1941, in Livingston, Texas. She was the second of two children who enjoyed growing up in a Christian home in east Texas. It was while attending Livingston High School that Lynda met her future husband Billy Jordan Trichel.

After graduating from High School, Lynda joined Billy in attending Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. They fell in love, were wed for life in June of 1961, and enjoyed every minute of their journey together. In 1959 the couple moved to the little town of Goodrich, Texas where Lynda taught high school English and they both started a family. Lynda brought her first born son, Mark Wayne into the world in 1963, and she became a mother and wonderful homemaker. In the summer of 1967 Lynda proudly gave birth to her second son Stephen Lynn. As a Chrisitan mother, she taught her sons well, faithfully took them to church, and prayed for their salvation.

In 1968 they moved to Midway, Texas and lived on the Trichel family cattle ranch. A few miles away in the town of Madisonville, Lynda taught 34 years in the high school Vocational Office Education Department, and Billy taught 28 years in the Ag Department. Forming necessary educational foundations in their respective students, both also cultivated hands on skills that would empower their students in the workforce.

Lynda was saved at a young age in Livingston, Texas and was a faithful member of the The First Baptist Church of Madisonville for over 45 years. With a gracious smile, Lynda served in various capacities at FBC, and throughout the community. For most she will be remembered for her kindness in service, as well as that of being a wonderful cook, and one with a great love of nature. God’s general revelation is a most beautiful thing and to be enjoyed in some capacity each and every day. And that she did. Whether gardening, bird watching, feeding cattle or holding her very own newborn grand daughter Cannon Grace, she awed in the beauty that God had created.

Lynda was preceded in death by her father June Cameron Marsh; mother, Sarah Alice Marsh; sister, Eva June (Marsh) Freeman; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Trichel.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Billy Jordan Trichel; son and daughter- in-law, Mark and Brenda Trichel; son, Stephen Trichel; granddaughter and husband, Ashley and Michael Lawless; and great granddaughter, Cannon Grace Lawless; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of TLC and Traditions Hospice, especially that of her end of life care team. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
