MARY OLLIE (ROGERS) ANDRUS
Mary Ollie (Rogers) Andrus, 79, of Madisonville, Texas passed away on April 8, 2022, in Madisonville, Texas. She was born on May 30, 1942, to J D Rogers and Robbie May (Reding) in Madison County, Texas. Mary was very well known in the Madisonville community, as the owner of Gent’s Florist for thirty years and as the first woman elected as Madison County Commissioner for six years. Mary loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Daughters of Confederates and Eastern Star. In her spare time, she loved to travel and ride back roads. Mary had great interest in her genealogy and history of the family. She loved antiquing and collecting knickknacks. She was very crafty.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, J D Rogers and Robbie May (Reding) Rogers; husband, Jimmie Ray Andrus; and sister-in-law, Euna Carol Rogers. She is survived by her brother, Robert Jessie “Bobby” Rogers; children, Connie Dale Stenger (Sam), Robbie Nell Holder, and Robert Ray Andrus (Carl Ruiz); grandchildren, Courtney Hutchins (Brent), Amy Koudelka (Ronald “TT” Tucker), Clayton Richardson (Katherine), John Holder (Tiffany), Jesse Stenger (Taylor Johnson), Shawn Andrus-Ruiz, Zachary Andrus-Ruiz, Greenleigh Andrus-Ruiz, Kristianna Andrus-Ruiz, Shalaine Stenger; and great-grandchildren, David, Mollie, Josephine, Tinley, Jason, Paisley.
A funeral service honoring Mary’s life was held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas, followed by interment in Madisonville Cemetery. Brad Brock officiated the service.
