MAURICE LEE BELIZARE
Our Beloved Husband and dad, Maurice Lee Belizare (67), was peacefully called home to glory on December 15, 2021, with his wife, Hope by his side. Maurice was born March 10, 1954, in Houston, Tx. He was adopted and raised in a loving Christian home by Johnny and Lillian Wilson in Bedia, Tx. He attended Marian Anderson School in Madisonville, Tx.
Dad was a loving, caring, and all-around great person, a true Christian, which led him to be an EMT for Madison County Hospital and UTMB
Department of Corrections for many years. He also worked as an ambulance driver in Huntsville and Houston until his retirement in 2021. Maurice had a genuine spirit of giving and was a very compassionate man. He was always willing to help.
Maurice enjoyed family gatherings, attending church, and watching most sporting events, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
But most importantly, he loved serving the Lord!
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a beloved Deacon at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church in Bedias, Tx; St.
Mark’s Missionary Baptist Church in Shiro, Tx and was also a recognized Deacon at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville, Tx as well as many other churches that he often visited throughout the years.
Maurice and Hope were introduced by mutual friends and eventually began dating October 24, 1994. Nineteen years later to the date, they married on October 24, 2013 in the presence of God and their children. In the 27 years they were together, they enjoyed scenic drives around the area and would eventually find themselves at Little League baseball games in Waco. When at home, they loved reading and studying the Bible. We know our lives will not be the same without his beautiful spirit, but we can find some comfort knowing our Maurice is rejoicing in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.
Maurice was preceded in death by both parents, Johnny and Lillian Wilson, his sister, Henrietta Mitchell, and brother Nathaniel Baltrip.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Hope Belizare of Madisonville; son, Anthony Merchant (Rebecca); daughters, Lacey Belizare Humphrey (Robert), Patricia Salas Moten (Otis), Elizabeth Amaya Martinez (Andrew); brother, Carey Wiggins; sisters, Dolly Ards, Althea Moses and Linda Callaway; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
May God continue to be with you all! Te Quiero Mucho Mi Amor
