Paul David Covington; 79 years, 2 months, 16 days; from Bedias, TX; passed away on Thursday; March 24, 2022 in Bryan, TX. Graveside services were scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday; March 28, 2022 at Bedias Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, TX. Bro. Nathan Hoke officiated. The visitation was scheduled for Monday; March 28, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX.

Paul was born on January 6, 1943 in Pasadena, TX to Earl Loyd Covington and Mary Jane (Johnson) Covington. He grew up in Pasadena, TX and attended The University of Houston, majoring in business and accounting. Paul proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam War and, upon his return, he started his grocery store career, which eventually included an automobile dealership. In 1971; he was able to fulfill a lifetime dream of owning a ranch; and upon his retirement from his businesses in The Greater Houston Area; Paul and his wife Vivian (Doyle) Covington moved from LaPorte, TX to their ranch in Bedias, TX where he became full-time rancher.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Rex Carr. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; his children, David Covington (Kari) and Kelley Tamplin (Kenny); his granddaughter, Korey Tamplin; his siblings, Earl Covington (Pamela) and Zina Arnold (Jerry); his sister-in-law, Ruby Carr; his brother-in-law, Bill Doyle (Mae); grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Paul had many loves in his life, but nothing gave him more joy than his family. He loved attending family dinners, watching his grandchildren show livestock, and attending youth rodeos.
